PV500 flexibility

In today's production lines, high flexibility is in great demand. Frequent product changes, plenty of product variations and short product lifetimes characterize the challenges to be met. Consequently, Machine Vision systems have to offer high flexibility in every aspect. The PV500 meets the flexibility challence in several ways:
  • A wide range of inspection tools
  • Online parameterization during live inspection
  • Combination of different camera types
  • Individual trigger for each camera
  • User-defined screens
  • Versatile documentation possibilities
A wide range of inspection tools
The PV500 offers you a large variety of inspection tools, the so-called checkers. A total number of 25,600 checkers can be set - which most probably will be sufficient also for very large inspection applications. These checkers cover the major areas of industrial Machine Vision application, such as dimensional measurement, position detection, surface inspection, object identification and others (see also PV500 Software).
Whenever there is a new firmware version available, the system can be updated easily with an SD card.

Online parameterization during the live inspection
Today, production time is more valuable than ever. Machine down time costs money and should be kept as short as possible. Also in this respect the PV500 is very cost efficient since it allows you to change inspection parameters while the production is running. It is possible to check new inspection parameters prior to taking them over as the new and valid setting.

Combination of different camera types
There different camera types are currently available for PV500. The quad-speed camera, the 2 Megapixel camera and the ultra compact camera. A maximum of 4 cameras can be connected to the PV500 (ANPV0504xxx), whereby any mixture of the three types is possible. Thus expansions or modifications of the system are possible any time.

Individual trigger for each camera
The PV500 offers an individual trigger signal for each camera (maximum four cameras). This allows for an asynchronous image grabbing, which can be useful if the cameras have to check objects at two different inspection points or even on different production lines.

User-defined screen
The information windows displayed on the monitor can be arranged according to your personal preferences. Up to 32 different monitor layouts can be stored on the system and can be recalled at the push of a button. Hence, even for huge inspection projects it is possible to take in the most important results at a quick glace. It is up to you to decide where you to place which information on the screen. If necessary, parameters and settings can be directly accessed and changed from the general overview screen, which allows quick and easy changes.

Versatile documentation possibilities
The documentation of inspection values and results is an important issue for the traceability of products. The PV500 supports the quality documentation in several ways. Images and inspection results can be stored on the optional SD card or they can be transferred via Gigabit Ethernet to a host system. A 16 GB SD card allows the storage of 8,800 high-resolution images and almost countless measurement results.

Flexible project structure
The PV500 does not use a fixed hierarchy in the project structure. You can define up to 10 branch conditions within a project, which gives you the opportunity to adapt the project to the quality control processes in your production.
